Hug and Kisses is a basic CMS that was originally developed to run websites simple enough for a child to use. However; children, as it turns out, are much more capable than their adult counterparts in most cases so perhaps this system is better targeted for parents.
I developed it to run a site for my son and one for my daughter, and I used the same CMS to run my own site as well. I tried other CMS', but quickly got frustrated with various limitations.
This CMS is in no way free of limitations, but it does what I needed and it is simple.

XO is a perfect alternative if you feel that WordPress is too complex. XO, however, is not disributed freely. This is because the system can be diffcult to setup, and I have not developed documentation to aid in the installation. If you are interested in using XO, please contact me and I will be happy to help you get things setup on your own server or on mine (for a small fee).

To post an article, simply enter text or graphics into the content editor.
To post a gallery, place a short description of the gallery on the first line and then hit enter, or leave it blank, but you must start adding photos on the second line. Once on the second line simply insert your photos using the image insert tool
To post a video, start on the second line just like you would to make a gallery. Add an image that will become the thumbnail and make a link to the flv, mp4 or mp3 file. You can add as many as you like.
